This page is dedicated to aspects of my ministry as a Roman Catholic Deacon in the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston in Texas, USA.

For background, I was ordained a Deacon on  June 2, 1990 for the (then) Diocese of Galveston-Houston. I was an "extern deacon" to the Southwark Archdioiocese in suburban London, UK, while on business assignment from 1991-94. Following my return from London, I entered the University of St. Thomas as a candidate for the degree of Master of Arts in Theological Studies (MA) and majored in Sacred Scripture. I graduated from UST with the MA degree in May of 2001. I retired from a 32-year career in oil and gas exploration technology development the same month. Subsequently, I was a full time chaplain for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, 2003 through 2006.

I host several web sites (honestly, more than I can keep up with 100 percent). As a general rule, the sites are dedicated to making information available, including providing download-able documents. Those sites are "topic specific." This page is "Deacon Ed specific." If you know I'm involved in something that you want more information about, this is a place to start looking. Of course, you are always welcome to contact me through this web site, by phone, or through the parish office of St. Thomas More parish, 713-729-0221.

The ministry of Catholic deacons can be characterized by "ministry of charity, Word, and sacrament." Sometimes a ministry cannot be simply characterized by only one or even two of those dimensions. I will nevertheless attempt to force-fit my ministries into one of those three categories. If you don't find it in one place, try another.

Officially, I am assigned by the archdiocese to two specific assignments; namely, St. Thomas More Catholic Parish, assisting Fr. William Oliver, pastor; and the Office of Correctional Ministries for the archdiocese, Fr. Ron Cloutier, Director. I am informally assigned to the Deacon Master of Ceremonies program for the archdiocese. This informal program will no doubt become formalized in the near future. At present it is coordinated by the Office of Worship, David Wood, Director.

This is a work in progress. As I complete new web pages, you will find more links below that will take you to specific topics. In the meanwhile, please contact me directly.
